Our little Graduate!

Seriously, Jake just graduated kindergarten! I am so sad he is getting so big, but love it and am so happy for him! (I know, mixed feelings once again) He loved this year, and had a wonderful teacher, Mrs. Jeppson. Grandma Stoddard came down from Idaho, and Auntie Em all came to his cute program. He said it was lame to sing the songs, but he did a great job. Especially at his cute part as the Lion Tamer. I know, if you look close he has sequence. (Reminded me of Siegfreid and Roy) Jake has overcome so many obstacle this year, and I look up to him so much. He faced all of those obstacles with his head held high. I love this kid! Congratulations CLASS OF 2011!

Easter Huntin!

Such a fun Easter! Picnic (ended up being indoors of course) at my mom and dads with bunny bucks and candy. ( The kids loved that, they could buy a toy at Grandma and Granddads store) I attempted to make my Aunt Naidas famous carrot cake (i think she might have been happy with it). Sunday- Easter treasure hunt for baskets and I attempted to make the kids pose for Easter pictures (didn't go so well).

Our tough little Buddy breaks his arm :(

On Wednesday, Jake fell off a slide and landed just so on his left arm to break it right in half. Poor kid new all along and kept telling me, "it's broken Mom, call the ambulance!" I took him to the instacare and they advised us to take him to Primary Children's ER. That's when we knew it was serious. We stayed the night monitoring and trying to do pain control. The next morning surgery was delayed three times, but they finally got him in. Forty minutes and two pins later, fixed. We ended up with so many surprise visitors and helpers, it made the horrible experience into a time well spent with family. And lets not forget the amazing babysitters at home with Eva! Thanks Emm, Mom and Dad! Coming home was rough. (Realizing he couldn't do anything and trying to keep pain under control) Now, waiting for swelling to subside and then four weeks in a hard cast. Jake is such a strong kid, I am so proud of him for trying and trying more to overcome this obstacle!

We had such a fun week, thanks to an amazing Grandad! We had a plan for everyday and wore the kids out. It was so much fun, and I'm looking forward to summer (warmer days) and many more adventures with my kiddos and family! My kids are so much happier outside. I think I will camp the whole summer.

Blow a kiss.

Brent's Grandpa Solterbeck passed away. We went to Ontario, Or for the funeral. He was a amazing man and it was an amazing funeral. I didn't get many pictures, but I thought this one was sweet of Eva and her Aunt Kell blowing a kiss bye bye to "Papa Solterbeck". It was a fun trip and the kids loved spending time with their cousin and Aunts and Uncle.

It's our turn

My poor babies.
Jake was taking precautions while giving Eva a checkup.

So I'm sure some of you have hear ed me say that my kids never get sick. Well they don't. I don't think I have had to ever take Eva to the doctor for being sick. But I guess we all have to take our turns. we started out with the stomach flu and then went on to bigger and better things. The real flu. I was to sick to take pictures for the last round. I don't think I will ever have the energy again to pack for an unexpected trip , drive 7 hours and entertain two little ones for three days with the flu again. The kids did have a great time seeing cousins, so it was worth it! And then the ride home, they got it. I will be happy to get rid of this mean thing called the "flu".

Jinxed!

Jake I swear is jinxed. He gets terribly sick every year on his birthday. One year it was strep and this year he came home with the tummy flu. It was so sad, because all day he had been working so hard to earn his dinner at Pirate Island with the family. We were just lucky we did all the family birthday things the weekend before. His cute friend cheered him up and brought him an awesome skateboard! And he did get his dinner at Pirate Island last night with us. Talk about one busy week! My highlight of it all was making him a book of all his Lego magazines. I have never seen a kid more grateful for a present! He was so sweet about it and that is one gift he and I both will always remember. I love my Jakey.
